Better Eggs

by TheLunarix

Better Eggs lets players boil and fry eggs in furnaces and campfires, turning a plain ingredient into two cooked foods with hunger value.

ForgeClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.01.20.1

What it does

Eggs gain two preparation methods. A raw egg placed in a furnace or campfire becomes a Boiled Egg, which restores 4 hunger bars when eaten and leaves an Egg Shell behind. Crafting a Frying Pan from the mod's recipe gives a second route: a cracked egg poured into the pan becomes an Egg Pan item, and cooking that item in a furnace produces a Fried Egg Pan.

Eating the Fried Egg Pan restores 5 hunger bars, and the Frying Pan returns to the inventory empty so it can be reused. The mod is meant for survival play and adds cooking variety rather than new progression. It runs on Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, and both the server and every player need it. The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Boiled eggs

Cooking a raw egg in a furnace or campfire turns it into a Boiled Egg, which restores four hunger bars.

  2. Frying Pan

A crafted Frying Pan takes a cracked egg and cooks it into an Egg Pan item that the furnace turns into a Fried Egg Pan.

  3. Reusable pan

After a Fried Egg Pan is eaten, the Frying Pan returns to the inventory, empty and ready for the next batch.

  4. Eggs as food

Eggs are reworked into cooked foods, giving players more varied ways to restore hunger than raw eggs offered.
