Better Cobblemon Spectation

by batmite2b

With Better Cobblemon Spectation installed on a client, battles watched through Cobblemon's spectate feature play out under a cinematic camera that rotates between angles.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.21.1

What it does

When a player spectates a Cobblemon battle, the BattleCam addon takes control of the camera and replaces the default point of view. Automatic rotating shots move between angles, and a manual control lets the viewer pick a shot directly. Movement and transitions between shots are smoothed with zooms, and the presentation covers both singles and doubles battles. The addon is aimed at tournaments, events, streams and recorded videos, while players who prefer the stock spectating view can leave it switched off.

The HUD changes while BattleCam is active: the hotbar, hand, crosshair, hearts, armor, hunger and XP bar are hidden for a cleaner view. A small BattleCam overlay stays visible so the viewer can see the current mode and the selected shot. The F6 key cycles through the camera modes. The mod requires Cobblemon, is client-side only, and is published for Fabric alone, with builds for 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Automatic rotating shots

The camera moves between angles on its own during a battle, so the viewer does not have to steer it.

  2. Manual shot control

A viewer can choose a shot by hand instead of following the automatic rotation.

  3. Smooth transitions

Zooms and movement between shots are eased, which keeps camera changes from looking abrupt.

  4. Cleaner spectator HUD

Survival elements such as the hotbar and health display are hidden, and a small overlay shows the active mode.

Questions

Does Better Cobblemon Spectation need Cobblemon?

Yes. Cobblemon is a required dependency, and the mod works only together with its spectate feature.

Does the server need this mod?

No. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing.

Can the stock spectating view be used with this mod installed?

Yes. BattleCam can be turned off, and the normal Cobblemon spectating view then stays in place.

What the author says

Better Cobblemon Spectation is a client-side Cobblemon addon that makes spectating battles feel more cinematic. Instead of using the normal player point of view, BattleCam controls the camera during spectating and adds dynamic angles, smooth movement, zooms, and cleaner presentation for singles and doubles battles.
