Better Building Recipes
by Exraa
Better Building Recipes, by Exraa, adds stonecutter recipes for common building blocks so players can craft slabs, panes and smooth stone without long smelting waits.
What it does
Players who build large projects often need many stone slabs, glass panes and brick blocks, and smelting them takes time. This utility adds a small set of stonecutter recipes for cobblestone, smooth stone, sand, glass, clay and brick blocks, so these materials can be cut directly and the waiting furnace steps are skipped. The recipes are kept deliberately minimal, so no extra steps are added on top of the vanilla ones.
The mod is server required and client optional: the server must run it, while players may add it on their side. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and as a data pack for server platforms. Files cover 1.14 – 26.2, with 3.0.0 for 26.2 as the latest build, released under the MIT License. The project is not open source.
Key features
Stonecutter building recipes
A stonecutter turns cobblestone, smooth stone, sand, glass, clay and brick blocks into slabs, panes and related pieces.
No smelting waits for common blocks
Blocks that normally need a furnace are available as direct stonecutter recipes, which removes the waiting time for these materials.
Recipes kept minimal
The set adds a small number of recipes rather than a broad overhaul, so progression of survival stays close to vanilla.
Data pack version
The same recipes are available as a data pack, which suits servers that prefer not to install a mod.

Use cases
Large building projects
Castles, walls and paved areas need many slabs and blocks, and the stonecutter recipes cut down the time spent waiting at furnaces.
Who it’s for: Builders who work on large structures in survival, and server owners who want shorter smelting waits without changing the rest of the crafting progression.
