BAPILib

by Bacrian

BAPILib is a library mod by Bacrian for Babric-based b1.7.3 installs, providing helper functions for building other mods.

What it does

Bacrian's other mods use BAPILib as a shared base, and the library collects small utilities that make mod development in b1.7.3 less repetitive. It adds no content to the game itself, so players see no new blocks or items from it alone. Better With Genders needs it to run.

Because it is a library, BAPILib is used on the development side of a project rather than as a gameplay addition. Its source code is public, under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which places the work in the public domain. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, so the library is optional on servers and clients alike.

Key features

  1. Shared helper functions

Small utility functions are gathered in one library, so mods built on it do not each carry their own copies.

  2. Readable, clean code

The source is written to be simple to follow, which makes it practical to study before using it in a project.

  3. Vanilla left alone

The library adds no content of its own and does not alter the base game's behavior.

No per-version build data
Modrinth lists game versions for this project (b1.7.3), but the source data has no build per game version and loader, so the compatibility grid is not shown.

Not necessarily. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, so installing it on one side is enough.

What the author says

As of now BAPILib adds a handful of functions to help on making mod development an easier experience and keeping the main code clean and readable. It adds helpers for development on mods. Doesn't add anything to the game on its own.
