BanManager

by confuser

BanManager is a Fabric management mod that gives server staff a way to handle bans, mutes, warnings and kicks on a Minecraft server.

FabricServer-side onlyCC-BY-NC-SA-2.0-UK1.20.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

Server staff use BanManager to apply and track punishments for players, including bans, mutes, warnings and kicks. Staff actions are recorded so that a moderator can check what was done before and by whom. The mod is built around moderating a server rather than changing gameplay, and it runs on the server alone. Fabric API is required, so it must be installed next to BanManager on the server.

The project has been in active development since 2012, and the author notes it is used on some of the largest Minecraft servers. It is cross platform: the same moderation system is offered for Bukkit, Spigot, BungeeCord and Sponge through the author's other builds, and it requires Java 21 or newer. Customisation is handled through player permissions, so server owners can decide which staff may use each command. Files are published for Fabric across seven release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.11, and the code is available under the CC-BY-NC-SA-2.0-UK license, which means the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Bans, mutes and warnings

Staff can issue bans, mutes, warnings and kicks to players, and each punishment is stored against the player's record.

  2. Punishment history

Past punishments remain visible to moderators, so repeat offences can be checked before a new action is taken.

  3. Permission control

Each moderation command can be limited with player permissions, letting server owners decide which roles may act.

  4. Cross-platform builds

The same moderation approach is offered for several server platforms, including Bukkit, Spigot, BungeeCord and Sponge.
