Backup System

by notch99

Backup System automatically copies Minecraft world folders to a Dropbox account on a schedule, so a server can keep recent copies of its worlds without manual steps.

FabricForgeServer-side onlyMIT License1.20 – 1.20.6

What it does

On a configured interval, which defaults to 30 minutes, the mod creates zipped backups of the world folders it is set to include and uploads them to a target folder in Dropbox. It needs a Dropbox API token, added to the config file, before uploads can start. Local zip files can be deleted after a successful upload, and old backups are removed automatically once the configured maximum number of kept backups is reached. A maximum of 0 keeps backups without limit.

The mod runs silently in the background on the server and works with the Overworld, Nether and End. It can be installed on a Forge or Fabric server, and the config file is generated on first start. Commands for an instant backup, a status check, a connection check and a configuration reload are limited to operators. Settings can be reloaded without restarting the server. The mod is for the server side only, so players join without installing it. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Files are published for Fabric and Forge for 1.20 – 1.20.6.
