Autowork
Autowork is a NeoForge automation mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that lets players chain simple machines instead of relying on large all-in-one machines.
What it does
Autowork extends vanilla automation with utility blocks that can be combined freely. Rather than adding cables and power grids, it focuses on moving items through pipes, redstone and logistics. Players can build infrastructure that transfers items from one storage to another, and a Breeze Collector gathers items from the space in front of it and places them into storage behind it. The author describes the mod as heavily inspired by the Create mod, and it also includes machines that assist with making farms.
The mod is a Vanilla+ industrialization and automation mod with FE/RF power support. Its built-in tooltips explain each block as players explore. Autowork is open source under the MIT License, and its source code is publicly available. It is published for NeoForge only, for 1.21.1, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Its latest file is 0.4s2, an alpha build dated 2026-08-06.
Key features
Chained simple machines
Machines are built to connect in a chain, so a factory can grow from basic parts without a single complex block.
Breeze Collector
Gathers items from the space in front of it and deposits them into storage placed behind it, powered by energy.
Tool and block placers
Some blocks use a given tool to break the blocks in front of them, and others place a chosen block in front of themselves.
Filtered hopper variant
A faster hopper alternative is available, with a filter variation for selecting which items pass through.
