Areas Undiscovered

by ErzeKawek

Areas Undiscovered, a Forge and NeoForge world generation mod for 1.20.1, adds 63 biomes and 21 dimensions across the Overworld, Nether and End.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Overworld biomes are built from existing vanilla blocks, while the Nether biomes use new blocks with their own functions. The End biomes fill the emptiness around the central island with new content. Some existing vanilla biomes are expanded with additional features, and the mod also adds new ores and materials that do not depend on the new dimensions.

Eight mobs using Geckolib animations appear in the Overworld, Nether and End. The mod introduces gameplay mechanics that may make play harder in some situations. The author notes that content may be added, changed or removed over later updates, and that only the 1.20.1 build is maintained, with older versions backported when needed.

Installation covers Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. The code is released under the MIT License, but the project is not open source. Public links exist for the issue tracker. The mod was first published on 2024-03-11 and last updated on 2024-04-25, when the latest files for both loaders were released for 1.20.1. Reuploading the mod is forbidden by the author.
