Apollo

by ThePinkHacker

Apollo is a space mod for Fabric that adds other planets, low gravity and fuel refining to Minecraft worlds.

FabricClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.18.1 – 1.20.1

What it does

Apollo brings space travel to Minecraft using data-driven content: planets are defined through datapacks, so custom worlds and expansions can add new destinations. Low gravity changes how players move on other worlds, and a custom data-driven skybox gives each planet its own sky. Fuel refining is part of the progression that leads from one world to the next.

The mod is built on newer parts of the game, such as custom worlds loaded from datapacks, and it is meant to be expanded by datapack and mod authors through its API. Players who enjoyed earlier space mods will find a similar starting point, though development has been paused and the project is still being worked on and improved. Installation requires Fabric API, and TerraBlender is optional. Client and server both need the mod, and the code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so it is open source.

Key features

  1. More planets

Additional planets can be added as destinations, giving players several worlds to reach beyond the overworld.

  2. Low gravity

Players move differently on low-gravity worlds, which changes jumping and falling in those locations.

  3. Custom skybox

Each world can use a data-driven skybox, so the sky differs from one planet to the next.

  4. Fuel refining

Fuel is refined as part of the space progression, giving players a resource step before travel.

  5. Expansion API

An API lets datapacks and other mods add new planets and content to the space setting.

What the author says

Me and many other people loved space mods like Galacticraft, but they're on old versions of Minecraft. Apollo is a space mod the utilizes newer aspects of Minecraft like custom worlds through datapacks. Apollo is still actively developing and improving. I will take feedback, but remember that early on there will be…
