Animal Pens Expansion - Alex's Mobs lets Alex's Mobs creatures live inside the animal pens added by the Animal Pens mod, with feeding and shearing rules for each species.

What it does

The addon connects Alex's Mobs to Animal Pens. Once installed, creatures such as the Alligator Snapping Turtle, Grizzly Bear, Komodo Dragon, Gelada Monkey and Capuchin Monkey can be kept in pens and bred or harvested according to the food they accept. Each species lists its own feed, for example cod, wheat, bananas, salmon or rotten flesh, and some produce items such as sheared wool, shed skin, sugar drop eggs or insect items.

Most of the behavior runs on the server, and a datapack controls the shearing rules for the snapping turtle and bison. Animal Cages can be picked up after being placed. Optional client-side visuals extend to animals from the Aquarium and Aviary mods. The mod requires Alex's Mobs and Animal Pens, is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and is published for Forge across 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1.

    Supported Alex's Mobs creatures can be housed in Animal Pens and handled like other pen animals.

  2. Species-specific feeding

    Each creature accepts its own foods, such as chorus fruit, dead bush, porkchop, bone meal or acacia blossom.

  3. Shearing and egg drops

    Some species drop sheared or shed items, and others yield sugar drop or apple grass eggs when fed and collected with a bucket.

  4. Portable Animal Cages

    Animal Cages are pickable, so a caged creature can be moved without losing its contents.

This mod is a compatibility addon that allows mobs from Alex's Mobs to work with the pens from Animal Pens, making animal management easier and more consistent. The mod is mostly server-side - datapack + shearing snapping turtle and bison. Client-side only adds animations for animals in the Aquarium and Aviary.
