Alternative Authentication
by GGSkyOne
Alternative Authentication lets a Minecraft server accept logins from several third-party authentication providers, such as Ely.by, alongside Mojang accounts.
What it does
The mod runs on the server only, so players join without installing anything. Providers are tried in a configured order, and the first one that authenticates the session admits the player. Two providers, Mojang and Ely.by, are configured by default, and the list can be edited to add, remove or reorder providers at will. Fabric API is required, and the mod is published for Fabric and Quilt.
When preventFallbackIfPlayerExists is enabled, a player whose username is already registered with an earlier provider cannot be taken over through a later one, which blocks impersonation of accounts. Whitelist entries are honored across all configured providers, and player textures such as skins and capes can be loaded from third-party skin servers. Servers should set online-mode=true and, for third-party providers, enforce-secure-profile=false, since those players do not carry signed chat keys. Detailed logs of authentication and whitelist operations can be written to the console for troubleshooting.
The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with its source code and issue tracker public. Files cover 1.14 – 26.1.2, with Fabric builds for 26.1.2 and Quilt builds up to 1.21.4.
Key features
Sequential provider chain
Each joining player is checked against the configured providers in order until one authenticates the session.
Fallback prevention
An optional setting stops a later provider from accepting a username that an earlier provider already holds.
Whitelist across providers
Whitelist entries apply to every configured provider, and a username can be resolved to its UUID through any of them.
Third-party skins and capes
Player textures can be loaded from third-party skin servers alongside Mojang accounts.

How it compares
InvalidPlayerBypassList is a Fabric-only, server-side mod released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, covering 1.21 – 26.1.2. Simple Whitelist is also server-side and open source under the MIT License, but it is Fabric-only and covers 1.18 – 26.2. Alternative Authentication targets the login chain rather than a whitelist alone.
