Alarms & Sirens

by Merceptoman

Alarms & Sirens adds alarm blocks that play sounds in the world, and they can be switched on with redstone signals from levers, buttons and similar sources.

ForgeClient or server, optionalAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Alarm blocks can be placed anywhere in a world, where they play simple alarm sounds. An alarm block keeps its own inventory, and a redstone input such as a lever or button sets it off. Because the sounds are played in the world, the same setup works in single-player worlds and on multiplayer servers.

The mod is a Forge utility and is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved. Environment is optional on both sides: either the client or the server can run the mod, and neither side requires it. The author notes that the mod is still under heavy development, so features may change and some are not finished yet.

The author says some textures were made with AI tools. Players who want a finished alarm setup should expect the feature set to shift between releases, because the author has marked several parts as unfinished.

Key features

  1. Placeable alarm blocks

Alarm blocks can be set down anywhere in the world and play simple alarm sounds when activated.

  2. Alarm block inventory

Each alarm block has an inventory of its own, so items can be stored in the block.

  3. Redstone activation

Redstone inputs such as levers and buttons trigger the alarm, allowing it to be wired into a circuit.

  4. Sounds in world and on servers

Alarm sounds play in the world, so both single-player and multiplayer servers can use them.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Players who want audible redstone alarms in a Forge world, and server owners who want sound-based signals in shared builds. Because the mod is still in heavy development, players should expect features to change.

Redstone input such as a lever or button turns the alarm block on, so it can be wired into any redstone circuit.
