Green Lantern, a Forge mod for 1.16.5, lets players craft a master lantern, pick a power corps and use its abilities through a set of items and blocks.

What it does

Akihito's Green Lantern adds many items, blocks and abilities inspired by the Green Lantern multiverse. A player starts by crafting a master lantern from one lantern, four obsidian blocks and four netherite ingots. Right-clicking the master lantern opens a screen where the player chooses a color corps, and the lantern then becomes the matching power battery.

The abilities cover flight, beams and a summonable sword. Creative-style flight is provided through Caelus API, and elytra-style boosting depends on the same library. The mod needs Akihito's Flight Core, which supplies the flight logic, and Caelus API, which the flight boost requires. Blocks and items glow when the optional OptiFine is installed.

Akihito's Green Lantern runs on Forge only, for 1.16.5 alone, with the latest file (26) dated 2024-06-05. It is a client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it. The code is not open source and the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Master lantern crafting

    The master lantern is crafted from one lantern, four obsidian blocks and four netherite ingots before any corps can be selected.

  2. Corps selection

    Right-clicking the master lantern opens a screen where a color corps is chosen, and the lantern becomes that corps' power battery.

  3. Beam attacks

    A laser beam ends in a firework explosion where it hits, and a blast beam causes a creeper explosion that damages blocks, following mob griefing rules.

  4. Summonable sword

    A sword can be summoned and dismissed on demand, dealing 12 damage with 20 durability before it wears out.
