What it does

A Little Extra Tiles, abbreviated ALET, extends the LittleTiles building mod on Forge for Minecraft 1.12.2. The Tape Measure gains new modes: a punch-and-select corner method, a grid with selectable color and shape, a way to clear measurements, and a setting that limits a measurement to ten individual marks. A color selector is improved as well.

The addon can turn a picture into a LittleTiles structure through the Photo Importer, and by default only images larger than 98 by 98 pixels are converted. The Typewriter converts typed text and lets the builder choose the font. The mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it.

LittleTiles and CreativeCore are required dependencies and must be installed alongside ALET. Files are published for Forge only, and the latest one is 1.1.0-034 for 1.12.2, released 2024-09-18 on the alpha channel.

Key features

  1. Tape measure corners

Punch one corner with the Tape Measure, then select the opposite corner with a right click to set a measurement.

  2. Additional structure types

The Tape Measure adds further structure types beyond those in the base LittleTiles tool.

  3. Measurement grid

Holding C while using the Tape Measure opens a selector for the grid color and shape of the measurement.

  4. Photo import

Pictures are converted into LittleTiles structures, with images above 98 by 98 pixels converted by default.

  5. Typewriter text

The Typewriter turns typed text into a structure and lets the builder pick the font.
