Extermination brings the Tripods of the 2005 War of the Worlds story into Minecraft, as a Forge mob mod that starts a timed invasion.
What it does
Once an Invasion Event triggers, towering machines rise from the ground and begin destroying the world. The Tripods are described as nearly unstoppable and endlessly hunt survivors. Tripods only spawn after the invasion is triggered, and the message Extermination has begun marks the start. The Invasion Event triggers on day 3, during the day, and the invasion worsens when the Harvest begins. The Harvest Event triggers on day 5, and the Blood Harvest brings Uberpods, Tripod Harvesters and the Martians themselves.
The mod later adds a boss that appears in a third stage of the conflict. Most mobs use special spawning conditions, and some spawn only above Y level 60 while others spawn below it. Most mobs spawn only in the overworld.
Extermination is for Forge on 1.19.2 – 1.20.1, with files for 1.19.2, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1. Geckolib is required. The mod runs on client and server, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. It was created with MCreator by Zcoper and published on 2026-06-06.
