wordchars
by unilock
wordchars changes how Minecraft decides where a word starts and ends, so word-wise cursor movement behaves more like bash's.
What it does
Word detection in the text fields follows the rules bash uses at the command line, so a jump across a word lands on boundaries that a shell user would expect. Holding Ctrl or Cmd while pressing a cursor key moves to the next word boundary, which is the behaviour the mod targets. The literal space character is one of the characters the mod's word rules account for.
The mod runs on Fabric and Quilt for game versions 1.14 – 1.21.4, and the latest file covers 1.21.4. Servers do not need it; each player installs it for their own game. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source.
Key features
Bash-style word detection
Word boundaries in text fields follow bash's rules instead of the default Minecraft behaviour.
Word jumps with modifier keys
Holding Ctrl or Cmd with a cursor key moves the caret to the next appropriate word boundary.
Space as a word character
The literal space character is handled as part of the word rules, so jumps stop at the expected points.

What the author says
wordchars makes Minecraft's word detection work a bit more like bash's. That is to say... Usually, when holding CMD or CTRL and pressing ← or →, the cursor moves to the next space between words in the appropriate direction. (the literal "space" character)
