Who has Mending?

by AcaciaTide

Who has Mending? is a client-side utility that puts villager trade information above each librarian's head, so enchanted book trades can be checked without opening the trade screen.

What it does

Only librarian villagers are tracked. The mod shows enchanted book trades as nameplates over the villager, with the enchantment and its cost, and it can hide junk trades such as paper and glass. Empty trade slots are hidden as well, and the first enchanted book in the list is the one displayed first. Trade records are saved per world or server, so the information stays available after the villager is out of view.

The trade data is recorded automatically the first time a trade screen is opened. Players who search for a specific enchantment, such as Mending, can scan several librarians quickly, because the nameplates stay on screen and the records remain until the world is reset. The mod runs on the client alone, so it does not need to be installed on the server.

Installation is on the client side only. The mod is published for Fabric and NeoForge, with files covering 9 release versions. The latest file, 2.0.2 for 26.3, was published on 2026-09-20. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are publicly linked.

Key features

  1. Enchanted book nameplates

Enchanted book trades appear as nameplates above librarian villagers, so the offers can be read at a distance.

  2. Automatic trade recording

Trade data is stored the first time a librarian's trade screen is opened, without any manual step.

  3. Junk trade filtering

Trades for items such as paper and glass are left out, so only enchanted book offers are shown.

  4. Saved trade records

Records are kept per world or server and remain after the villager leaves view.
