Whisper of Ether lets players customize weapons and armor with runes, using automatable magic blocks in a Fabric adventure that also adds quests, dungeons and bosses.

What it does

Equipment gets new properties through a Runic Table, where a rune is applied to a weapon or armor piece and can lower some statistics while raising others. Runes themselves are made at a Runic Forge from specific recipes, and a Runic Infuser turns blank runes into stat-infused runes that carry a random statistic. The magic blocks can be automated, so players who build machines to feed them can run the process without manual steps.

The mod is built around a magic adventure in which the player's progress opens further content. Quests, dungeons and bosses were introduced in a later update, so the adventure side grows over time. Whisper of Ether requires Cardinal Components API, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric only, across three release versions 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, under a custom license that is not open source.
