Warlery's Turrets
by Warlery
Warlery's Turrets adds several automated turret types that players build and upgrade to guard a base against hostile mobs and raids.
What it does
Turrets in the mod are placed as blocks and then fire at mobs in range, with separate turrets for machine gun, sniper, mortar, bull cannon and cannon roles. Each one takes its own ammunition and is meant to be crafted, upgraded and rebuilt as the base grows. A defend-house feature lets a turret protect a house area rather than a single spot.
Weapons come in the same package: a head hunter turret, a riot hammer, a Jack's gun, a caliber gun and caliber axe, a Lifeore gun, magma claws and an engineer hammer. The weapons share one upgrade path and keep their damage values across it, and they use infinite durability, so players do not need to repair them.
The mod is released for Forge only, and the client needs it while the server may skip it, so a player who joins a server without it cannot use the turrets. Files cover 1.20.1, 1.20.6, 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3 and 1.21.4, with 2.0 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. It is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0, so the code is not open source. JEI is needed to view the recipes, and GeckoLib adds the compatibility animations.
Key features
Five turret types
Machine gun, sniper, mortar, bull cannon and cannon turrets each fire with a different role and range.
Defend-house mode
A turret can be set to guard an enclosed house rather than a single position, covering the whole area.
Infinite-durability weapons
The handheld weapons never wear out and keep the same damage through every upgrade step.
Shared upgrade method
Turrets and weapons follow one upgrade path, so the crafting steps repeat across the whole set.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Players who want automated defense on Forge and do not mind installing JEI and GeckoLib alongside the mod. Server owners can leave it off the server if they only need it for client-side features.
How it compares
Medieval Defense Turrets is Forge-only for 1.20.1, client and server, under the MIT License, and is not open source. Defense Turrets runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, is client and server, and is also MIT licensed without being open source. Jungdab's Turrets covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 26.3, is client and server, and is open source under the MIT License, so it is the only one of these with a wider loader and version range.
