VSE Gamepad Lite lets a controller steer ships in a ship-based physics mod, with buttons assigned to descend and cruise actions.
What it does
The addon adds gamepad support for ship control, with extra features and more customizability than the base controls. Gamepad buttons can be assigned to ship actions such as descend and cruise, and the options are exposed through new config settings. Controller types covered include Xbox, PlayStation and generic gamepads. It is a Pure client side mod: it only changes how the client reads input, so it can be used on multiplayer servers without a server install.
Installation is handled through the addon's own loader builds for Forge and Fabric across the 1.18, 1.19 and 1.20 game versions; its newest files target 1.20.1 and were published on 2025-03-01. The author tested the gamepad mods alongside Controllable and MidnightControls to check button assignment.
