VSE Gamepad adds gamepad controls for ship movement on Forge for Minecraft 1.18.2.

What it does

With the mod installed, a gamepad can steer a ship: the left joystick moves it, and face buttons ascend and descend (A or X to ascend, B or O to descend, depending on the controller). The mod only adds controls for the ship; it does not take over full player movement with a gamepad, so other mods handle that part. The mod is published for Forge only, with a single build for 1.18.2, and only the client needs it.

Key features

  1. Left joystick ship movement

    The left stick moves the ship while the player is controlling it from a seat or helm.

  2. Ascend and descend buttons

    Face buttons raise and lower the ship: A or X ascends, B or O descends, matching Xbox and PlayStation layouts.

  3. Eureka ship support

    Ships built with Eureka can also be driven with a gamepad, so the same controls cover both ship types.

The mod adds gamepad controls to ship control from another mod, so the ship features it extends depend on that base. The mod itself only runs on the client.
