Village Lens
by Misemise
Village Lens shows which workstation bed and blocks each villager has linked, and explains why a villager cannot claim a selected target.
What it does
Selecting a villager displays its remembered workstation and bed, with their locations, distance and current status. Workstations are highlighted in yellow and beds in blue, and lines are drawn between a villager and its linked locations. Optional through-wall outlines, lines and labels can be turned on for villager highlighting.
When a target workstation or bed is selected, the mod checks whether that villager can claim it, and reports a diagnostic reason when it cannot. Results can flag invalid blocks, occupied points of interest, clashing professions, chunks that are not loaded, distance limits and positions that cannot be reached, with a diagnostic state and confidence level shown for each.
Villager AI stays as it is, while the mod can edit villager memories, professions, points of interest, paths and AI state, force-load chunks, teleport villagers, and force links between villagers and blocks. Village Lens is published for Fabric and NeoForge across 7 release versions, 1.21 – 26.2, under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source. Both the client and the server need the mod, and the interface supports English and Japanese.
