ViewLockerMod

by ChocoMucho

Players who farm or grind for long stretches can use ViewLockerMod to freeze the camera at a saved yaw and pitch, so the mouse stops moving the view.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.5 – 1.21.11

What it does

ViewLockerMod lets a player store specific camera yaw and pitch values under a name, then snap to a saved view with one command or key press and keep it fixed until the lock is released. While a view is held, mouse input does not move the camera. Releasing the lock restores the original mouse sensitivity automatically, and the saved angles persist between sessions through a config file.

The mod hooks the game's mouse handler and blocks camera input while a view is held, saving the sensitivity beforehand so the value is restored exactly on release. The U key switches the lock on and off without any command, the key can be rebound in the Controls options, and the last used view is re-locked when the view is made active again. Installation needs only Fabric; the client is the only side that runs the mod, so the server and other players do not need it. Files cover 1.21.5 – 1.21.11 across six release versions, and the code is released under the MIT License without being open source.

Key features

  1. Saved camera views

Yaw and pitch values are stored under a name, so a preset angle can be recalled at any time.

  2. Camera lock

A saved view is snapped to and held in place, while mouse movement is ignored until the lock ends.

  3. Toggle hotkey

Pressing U switches between held and free states without typing a command, and the key is rebindable.

  4. View listing

The saved perspectives can be listed, so a player can see which angles are available before choosing one.

How it compares

Full comparison

Locked On is also a client-side camera lock released under the MIT License, with files for 1.21 – 1.21.5 and open source status, so it covers an older version range than ViewLockerMod. Coordinate angle is client-side and open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, and it shows coordinates and angles rather than locking the camera. ElytraSpeedometer is a client-side Fabric mod for 1.21.11 only, released as All rights reserved and not open source, and it displays elytra speed rather than saved views.
