Underground Unlimited extends the Overworld downward to Y=-1024, so players can dig past bedrock into new layers, ores and structures.
What it does
The mod adds a deeper world beneath the surface. Below the standard underground, stone changes as the player descends, with Castorite and Gneiss marking one layer and other rock types marking the next. Deeper ores such as Osimum and Heart-Iron have their own properties and uses, and the pressure at depth is described as the source of new materials.
Hitting bedrock is the start of a progression path rather than a dead end. The author describes special tasks that involve beating bosses to get further and collect resources. Dynamic music plays only when specific conditions are met, and new enchantments aim to make tools more useful for progression, mining and farming. The mod also adds drills, which the author says depend on the type of drill used.
Underground Unlimited runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with builds for 1.21 – 1.21.3 as listed on its page. Its license is All rights reserved, so the code is not open to redistribution under an open source license.
