TPS HUD TickPulse
by Zivalez
TPS HUD TickPulse is a NeoForge overlay that shows the server's ticks per second and milliseconds per tick on the client screen, for 1.21.1.
What it does
The overlay displays live TPS and MSPT values in the top-left corner by default. The readout is taken from sampling of the world clock, smoothed over a short window, and client-tick timing serves as a fallback when no sampler data is available. Players can see tick health at a glance without leaving the game.
Only the client needs the mod, so players join a server without installing anything on the server side. The server can still take part through custom packets and channel handshakes, which expose the timing data the overlay reads. Network impact is described as zero, and the HUD stays light on CPU and memory. Layout, anchor, padding, scale, precision, format, smoothing and color thresholds can be changed in the in-game configuration screen, which can also be opened through the Mods menu.
TPS HUD TickPulse targets NeoForge alone and is published for 1.21.1 only. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The latest NeoForge build, 1.1.0 for 1.21.1, was published on 2025-11-01, after the first release on 2025-10-28.
Key features
Live TPS and MSPT overlay
A compact readout of ticks per second and milliseconds per tick sits in the top-left corner and updates while the game runs.
Detail layout
An always-on detail layout shows labels and values together, with a compact mode available for a smaller footprint.
Adjustable HUD
Anchor, padding, scale, precision, format, smoothing window and color thresholds can all be tuned from the in-game configuration screen.
Auto-hide with F3
The overlay can be set to hide when the F3 debug screen is opened, and that behavior can be turned off in the config.
Capped display, true tracking
The displayed TPS is capped at the normal maximum, while the internal coloring logic still follows the true rate, so a server running fast still shows its real state through the colors.

How it compares
Syncra HUD is a client-side NeoForge HUD for 1.21.1 under All rights reserved and is not open source, so it is a general-purpose overlay rather than a dedicated tick readout. Memory Display is a client-side mod for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge covering 1.21, released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and open source. Lag Generator is a server-side mod for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21 under the MIT License, so it adds load instead of reading it.

What the author says
See tick health at a glance. A super-lightweight client-side overlay for TPS and MSPT on NeoForge. No server install. No custom packets. Just local math. Does it send packets or open channels? No. It passively reads timing and estimates locally.
