TotemCounterV2

by m4ssive

TotemCounterV2 keeps a count of the totems each nearby player has popped in a fight, and shows the numbers on a customizable HUD.

What it does

Each time a player pops a totem of undying, the mod adds it to that player's running count and displays the result on the HUD. The counter resets automatically when a player dies, and the tracked range can be limited to players nearby. Pops can also be listed in the Tab list with a colored border, and a milestone threshold, such as 14 totems, triggers a notice once a fight reaches it.

The mod is a client-side Fabric mod, so only the client needs it, and it runs on vanilla servers, anarchy servers and PvP realms alike. Its HUD is changed in an edit mode, where a left-click drag moves the display, a right-click drag resizes it from the corners, and the H key opens that mode. The configuration menu is opened with a config key, and it lets players choose between the L, J, K and M keys. Fabric API is required, and the mod is released under the MIT License, so it is open source. Files cover 1.21 – 1.21.11, with 2.3.5 for 1.21.11 as the latest build.

Key features

  1. Pop tracking

Single totem pops are counted for each tracked player and shown as a running total on the HUD.

  2. Customizable HUD

An edit mode lets players drag, reposition and resize the display, then save the layout when they exit.

  3. Custom pop sounds

The default totem sound can be replaced with an instrument from a set of note block sounds, with separate volume and pitch settings.

  4. Milestone alerts

A threshold such as 14 totems can be set, and the mod signals when a player reaches it during long fights.

Use cases

Large PvP fights

In a fight with many players, the counter shows how many totems each opponent has used, which replaces calling the numbers over voice chat.

Nearby-only tracking

Players who only need to watch opponents close by can limit tracking to that range and keep the HUD uncluttered.

Who it’s for: Players on vanilla SMPs, anarchy servers and PvP realms who want to follow totem use during fights. The mod is client-side, so server owners do not need to install anything.

Yes. Fabric API is required, and the mod only runs on the Fabric loader.
