Torrent
by Theseus
Torrent is a Fabric client mod that changes how bucket fluid placement feels in Minecraft Java Edition.
What it does
Torrent moves liquid placement and pickup to the client side, so a fluid appears on screen as soon as the player places it, without waiting for the server to confirm. The mod targets responsiveness and reduces the perceived latency of bucket actions. Fabric API is required, and the mod is client-side only, so servers run without it. Files cover 1.21.8, 26.1.2 and 26.2 under a custom license that is not open source, with 0.0.9 for 26.2 as the latest file.
Key features
Instant fluid placement
Placed liquids render on the client at once, so bucket use feels immediate instead of delayed by a server round trip.
Responsive fluid pickup
Picking up fluids updates on screen straight away, keeping the visual response in step with the player's input.
Visual-only effect
The change only alters how fluid actions are drawn, and server-side physics and rules continue to run unchanged.
