To the Bat Poles!
by enderlanky
To the Bat Poles! lets players slide down iron bars and craftable poles, and ride poles that rise on redstone power.
What it does
Poles are built from common materials such as wood, iron and glass, and each material sets a different descent speed. Players can also build poles from fences, chains, posts, bamboo and trees, and set a pole's length by layering iron bars. A pole can be extended upward from the ground, and a pole top can carry torches, banners or other blocks as decoration.
Players hold a brush in one hand and a sample block in the other to repaint a pole, and dyes and water are used the same way. Redstone-powered poles lift the rider upward when activated, and the rise distance is configurable. Climbing, spinning and jumping off a pole are supported, and a pole-dancing skill tree is included. Clients and servers both need the mod, and it depends on ForgeEndertech.

Use cases
One-way rides
Stacked iron bars create a pole that carries a player down, a common route in dungeons and Batcaves built as one-way passages.
Slow climbs back up
Ascent can be made deliberately slow through configuration for players who want more effort in travel.
Who it’s for: Builders making dungeons, caves and vertical routes, and server owners who want configurable poles and lifts for players to use.

What the author says
"To the Bat Poles" creates a one-way ride out of everyday iron bars! Simply stack iron bars one-on-top-of-another to create a pole length of your choosing. Make sure the top of your pole is easily reached, jump at the pole and (provided you don't miss) off you go!
