TKVM Enemies

by TheKushVanMan

TKVM Enemies reworks how hostile factions behave in a world, adding medieval enemy units that patrol, form squads and wage war over villages.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1 – 1.20.6

What it does

The mod changes how enemies are spawned, how they react to events and how they arrange themselves in groups. Both factions gain two new pseudo-leader enemies, and elite units patrol the world and join up with others to form squads. Units also emote depending on what is happening around them. TKVM Weapons supplies the gear that units use.

Each faction tracks reputation with the player. By default both factions target the player unless the player reaches negative reputation with either one; killing or harming a faction's units lowers standing, while gifting gold, emeralds or diamonds to an entity of that faction raises it. Factions occasionally wage war over a village with the player inside it, and the chance rises as the player's reputation with either side drops. Reputation settings and the other tunable values live in tkvm enemies-common.toml, and the mod can be disabled in config.

The mod is distributed under the MIT License and is not open source. It is published for Forge only, across six release versions 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. SGI-FOUNDATIONS is listed as a structure improvement that the mod works alongside.

Key features

  1. Faction reputation

Reputation with each faction decides whether units attack the player, and killing or gifting to a faction shifts that value.

  2. Squad formation

Elite units patrol the world and join nearby units to form squads that act together.

  3. Unit combat profiles

Units differ in role: some have 20 HP and switch from ranged fire to a dagger at close range, some have 45 HP and dodge heavy swift attacks, and others have 75 HP and fight with large weapons.

  4. Village conflicts

Factions fight over villages, and a village left unchecked can be wiped out, so reputation changes how often clashes happen.

  5. Dynamic emotes

Units play emotes that change with the situation around them.
