The Sound Of Paintings
by Busituteng
With The Sound Of Paintings installed, the 24 music discs added to the game are drawn from paintings that were transformed into audio.
What it does
The mod adds 24 music discs to Minecraft. Each disc plays a music file generated with AI tools from prompts written by the author, and the paintings they are based on were converted from images into sound. The author describes the project as a small example mod, built with the Packer Programmer and a Music Effect, and the source code is available for anyone who wants to study how the files were made.
Both the server and every player need the mod, because it runs on client and server. The mod works only on Forge for Minecraft 1.12.2, and the only published build is version 0.0.2, released on 2023-08-03 on the beta channel. The code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 only, so the project is open source and its issue tracker is public.
Key features
24 music discs
Twenty-four discs are added to the game, each carrying a music file that plays when the disc is inserted into a jukebox.
Paintings turned into sound
Images of paintings from Minecraft were converted into audio, so each disc is tied to a specific painting.
AI-generated music
The music files were produced with AI tools from written prompts, with the author supplying the input and selection.
Source code
The source code and issue tracker are public, so changes and bug reports can be followed in the project repository.
