The Irritator is a Forge dweller mob for players who explore the caves, appearing at night on the surface and in underground passages.
What it does
The mob is a dweller descended from the Origin that searches the surface for humans, but only appears after dark. Before it comes into view it signals its presence with irritating footstep and growl sounds, and when it is close it emits the noises of the natural cave dweller. Encountering it inside a cave tells the player what is about to happen.
The card covers a model with a wide gaping mouth, a body larger than the player, and four legs; the creature stands 9.5 blocks tall. The mod also adds new hurt and death sounds, a reskin of one of the existing dwellers and of the Origin, and corrected subtitles for the dweller. Its animations depend on GeckoLib, which must be installed next to The Irritator for them to play.
The mod is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything. It is not open source and is released under All rights reserved. Files exist for 1.19.2, 1.19.3 and 1.19.4, and the latest Forge file is 1.7.0 for 1.19.4, published 2024-04-07.
