Terrainless World Generation
by Klinbee
Terrainless World Generation is a server-side datapack that produces worlds with the land removed, leaving the features that normally sit on it.
What it does
The datapack generates a world where the terrain itself is missing. Trees outline mountains and rolling hills, and villages sit along winding roads that cross invisible valleys, while dungeons, geodes and shipwrecks float above the void or stand where no shore exists. Chorus Fruit Cacti spawn and break instantly. The author credits Apollo for the technique that makes a data pack like this possible. Only the server has to run it, and players may leave it out. Files cover 1.19 – 1.21.10 for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the project is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Missing terrain
The generated world has no ground, so landforms and features appear without the surface they would normally rest on.
Floating structures
Dungeons and geodes hang above the void, and shipwrecks lie where a beach would normally be.
Instant cacti
Chorus Fruit Cacti spawn and break instantly, a change to vegetation that the world generation applies.

What the author says
Imagine a normal Minecraft world. Now remove the terrain. That's what this datapack does. Everything looks as if the terrain is there... but it's all gone.
