Sword Optimizer

by thedutchpianoman_

Sword Optimizer changes how sword swings are processed on the client, so attacks register without waiting for a server reply.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.9 – 1.21.11

What it does

Sword swings are handled instantly on the client rather than waiting for the server to confirm each one. The mod targets the delay between clicking and seeing the attack, aiming to keep the vanilla combat feel while reducing that lag, especially when latency is high. Because the work happens client side, only the player who installs it is affected.

The mod is client-side only, so servers run without it and players join multiplayer games without installing anything extra. It is published for Fabric alone, with files for the range above, and requires Java 21 or newer. Its author notes that a Forge version is planned but not yet available.

Sword Optimizer is released under the MIT License, but it is not open source. Its latest file, v0.5.0-beta for 1.21.11, was published on 2026-05-24, the same day as the first release.

Key features

  1. Instant swing processing

Sword swings are processed on the client at once instead of waiting for a server response.

  2. Reduced click-to-attack delay

The gap between clicking and seeing the attack is reduced, which matters most on connections with high latency.

  3. Vanilla combat feel kept

Combat keeps the timing and feel of vanilla sword use while the response becomes more immediate.

  4. Lightweight design

The mod is described as small and optimized, with a narrow scope limited to sword combat.

  5. Multiplayer compatible

The change runs in the player's client, so it works on multiplayer servers without any server-side install.
