Subaru stairs
by needyimanbka
Subaru stairs adds a walkable spiral tower of stone stairs, reached through a lit green portal into a dimension of its own.
What it does
Climbing the staircase shifts the world to a green tint and starts thin light-streak particles that drift upward, with a looping ambient track playing. The tower is generated as a circular structure with a solid stone-brick outer wall, an open central shaft, a sand floor at the base and a stone-brick roof near the top, where the final stretch of stairs is removed. Reaching the top leads to a small surprise.
The tower sits in a custom endless dimension, reached by going deep enough below the base to find the portal. The staircase is a continuous, gapless spiral built from smooth stone slabs, stretching almost to the height limit of the game engine in 1.20.1. Three effects can each be toggled separately in a settings menu, so the tint, particles and music can be switched off one at a time.
The mod is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 and needs Fabric Loader and Fabric API. It runs on the client and the server, so the server and every player need it. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
