Stripify

by Rainbow Rose

Stripify removes most of the Placed Features and Structure sets that later versions of the game add to world generation, so generated terrain matches an older style.

What it does

Stripify is a data pack and mod for world generation in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1, published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. It strips out most Placed Features added after the early beta releases, along with the structure sets that go with them. The nether complexes and ocean shrines are among the structures it removes, and Nether Ores generation is reduced to only the Nether Gold ore.

The author intends the mod to be used alongside Moderner Beta, which restores a beta-like feel to terrain generation that modern versions otherwise replace. Stripify covers the removal side of that setup, and the version history runs from a first release through a version 2 beta to version 3, with the latest file dated 2026-08-26. The server needs the mod, while players may add it on their side as well.

Key features

  1. Placed feature removal

Most Placed Features introduced in later versions are removed, so ore and decoration generation follows an earlier layout.

  2. Structure set removal

Structure sets are taken out of world generation, leaving fewer structures to appear in new chunks.

  3. Nether ore reduction

Nether ore generation is cut back so that only the Nether Gold ore is placed in the nether.

  4. Modern feature removal

Newer features such as kelp, amethyst geodes and glow lichen are dropped from generation, along with most other additions.

What the author says

Moderner Beta makes the world feel a lot like Beta but tends to leave a lot of Placed Features from Modern Minecraft like Kelp, Amethyst, Glow Lichen... etc.
