Starlance
by Starlance
Starlance lets Valkyrien Skies ships travel between planets, with thrusters, artificial drag and Magnet Boots for movement in space.
What it does
Ships built with Valkyrien Skies can leave the surface and reach other planets through the space dimension. With Cosmic Horizons installed, a ship can climb to y=560 and pass into the space dimension, then arrive at whichever planet the player selects. With Ad Astra, the same GUI also opens for entity rocket ships, so a rocket can be aimed at a destination planet from the same screen.
Thrusters power the ships, and the thruster mode can be switched between a global position setting and an alternate mode, with an item used to disable it. Starlance also adds an optional artificial drag block for slowing down in zero gravity, and Magnet Boots that provide artificial gravity for a player standing on a ship. The mod adds tier blocks that a server can give to a player to set which tier of Ad Astra planet they can reach.
Starlance requires Kotlin for Forge and Valkyrien Skies. Cosmic Horizons, Ad Astra and Create are optional and extend the planet travel and ship building. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is open source.
Key features
Interplanetary ship travel
Valkyrien Skies ships can enter the space dimension and land on a chosen planet, with Cosmic Horizons or Ad Astra.
Thruster propulsion
Thrusters power ships, and two thruster modes can be toggled, with an item that disables them when configured.
Artificial drag block
An optional drag block slows ships down in zero gravity, which helps with stopping in space.
Magnet Boots
Boots that create artificial gravity, so a player can walk on the hull of a ship in space.
Planet tier blocks
Tier blocks let a server choose which Ad Astra planets a player is allowed to travel to.

What the author says
Currently supported mods: - Cosmic Horizons - Ad Astra - VS: Genesis For example, with Cosmic Horizons installed, VS ships will go into its space dimension on reaching y=560 (like Cosmic Horizons entity rocket ships). Then in the space dimension, if the ship enters a planet, it gets transported there.
