Spaceward Expansion brings outer space into Minecraft, adding oxygen, space suits and fluid handling to the game.
What it does
The mod adds oxygen-based survival in space, a space suit with its own inventory equipment slots, parachutes and oxygen tanks. Dynamic canisters act as portable oxygen tanks that a player can breathe from, and canister fillers refill empty canisters from above the tanks. Fluid tanks and fluid pipes move liquids between machines.
Oxygen collectors create oxygenated areas around oxygen-producing blocks and plants, which is how a base can be made breathable. Moon access begins above height 400 and can be changed in the config. Just Enough Items (JEI) is an optional dependency that lists the new recipes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Building a breathable base
Players can place oxygen collectors beside oxygen-producing plants to make an enclosed area breathable.
Travelling through space
Space suits, parachutes and canisters let a player reach high altitude and return safely.
