Slime Overhaul

by ludwici

Slime Overhaul adds new slimes, potions, blocks, items and advancements to Minecraft, for players on Forge and NeoForge who want slime-themed content in the 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 versions.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Slimes in the mod gain new behaviour: a double jump, higher jumps than vanilla slimes, and a variant that spawns on oceans and rivers, with a chance to appear in other bodies of water. Slime blocks can be made to glow by applying Glow Ink Sac, and an axe used in the main hand scrapes the ink off again. An earth slime ball improves shields when used in an anvil, and the shield can reflect damage from block attacks.

Potions form a second part of the content. One potion pushes entities out of water or lava, another grants an extra jump in the air. Fire resistance and water breathing potions can be brewed at two durations, and Fire and Water Slime Blocks use those effects. Mountain tops above height 160 are listed among the places where new slimes appear.

Installation needs CrumbsLib on Forge and NeoForge. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the license is All rights reserved; the source code and issue tracker are public, but the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Double jump

Players can make a second jump in mid-air after using the slime effect, which adds to the jump height from slimes.

  2. Water and lava potions

Potions push entities out of water or lava, and the matching Slime Blocks use breathing and fire resistance effects.

  3. Glowing slime blocks

Applying Glow Ink Sac to new slime blocks makes them glow, and an axe removes the ink again with a right click.

  4. Shield upgrade

An earth slime ball added in an anvil improves a shield, which can reflect damage from block attacks.
