SLcompass
by StoryLegends
SLCompass changes the F3 debug screen so that holding a compass map shows the full coordinate and debug view, and hides it otherwise.
What it does
Without a compass map in hand, the F3 screen is hidden. Holding a compass map makes the normal F3 screen appear automatically, and once the map is put away the original F3 behavior returns. Coordinates can also be shown above the hotbar as a separate display.
On servers where the mod is installed, the server and the client stay synchronized, and a client remembers which servers have SLCompass enabled so the behavior carries over when rejoining. The client needs the mod, while the server may skip it and still gets the synchronization features when it runs the mod. Options are set in-game through ModMenu, and Cloth Config API is required.
The source code and issue tracker are public. The mod is released under the MIT License, is open source, and is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.4, 1.21.8, 1.21.9 and 1.21.10, with 1.5+1.21.10 for 1.21.10 as the latest file.
Key features
Compass-gated F3 screen
The debug screen stays hidden until a player holds a compass map, then appears in its normal form.
Coordinates above the hotbar
Coordinates can be displayed above the hotbar, independent of the full debug screen.
Server synchronization
Servers with the mod installed keep their active players in sync, and clients remember which servers use it.
In-game configuration
Settings are adjusted directly in the game through ModMenu, including a list of server addresses where the behavior applies.
