SCP-439, The Bone Hive adds a parasitic insect entity from the SCP universe, a swarm whose infection slowly weakens and eventually takes over its victims.

What it does

The mod's entity looks like an earwig in a different color and appears in the open world on the surface, though only in a few instances. Its infection is handled by a central Queen and her Warriors, who attack a player under certain conditions and can infect them. Once infected, the player loses health: below 5 health points during the day and below 12 during the night, with weakness and a brief darkness effect, and positive effects are removed.

The mod requires Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it. The entity is built with MCreator, and the files are published for Forge only, across 1.19.2, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1. Version 1.19.2 lacks the shield and the improved structure generation and custom villagers found in 1.20.1. The package is All rights reserved and is not open source, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it.

  1. Parasitic infection

    A Queen infects living hosts, and the infection moves through stages until the victim becomes part of a new colony.

  2. Health and status effects

    Infected players lose health, face weakness and darkness, and lose positive effects, with harsher limits at night.

  3. Hive regrowth

    When a colony falls, a fresh Queen takes over, so the hive is never fully eradicated.

  4. Spawn conditions

    The entity appears only in a few instances and under set spawn conditions, some above Y level 60 and some below.
