Schmucks! brings small helper characters into a Fabric game that carry heavy loads, fight, dig ore and stock chests.
What it does
Schmucks are little people that a player recruits and keeps as loyal companions. They can carry heavy loads and pick up dropped items, then deposit them into a chest when they want that item. Each Schmuck follows a default treat item as a melee weapon and can also use an egg-based treat as a ranged weapon that fires projectiles, much like a skeleton.
Schmucks can use pickaxes to dig exposed ore close to them, and they search nearby for a whitelisted furnace or farmland to put food items into or onto. Installation is a single Fabric mod: it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Builds cover 1.16.3 – 1.17, with 1.3.2 for 1.17 as the latest file, released under the MIT License as open source.
