Ride Anything
by telecter
Ride Anything lets players saddle and ride mobs that vanilla Minecraft leaves unrideable, with the list of allowed types set in the config.
What it does
The mod is a server-side change: once it runs on the server, players can mount the mobs it allows. Its default mode covers only animals, and two other modes widen the set to living entities or to a custom list the server owner defines. Happy Ghast, Polar Bear, Skeleton Horse, Trader Llama and Zombie Horse are among the vanilla mobs that already accept riders and are listed in italics in the config.
Settings are edited from the config screen opened through Mod Menu, or by editing the config file directly. Ride Anything is published for Fabric only, across game versions 1.21.2 – 26.1.2 with 13 release versions, and is open source under the MIT License. Installation needs only Fabric; server owners install it, and players join without installing anything.

Use cases
Animal mounts on survival servers
Server owners who want more transport options can allow riding on animals without changing how the rest of the world works.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want to control which mobs can be ridden, and players on those servers who want to travel on animals beyond the vanilla set.
How it compares
Even Faster Happy Ghasts is a Fabric server mod for 1.21.6 – 26.3 under the MIT License, but it is not open source. Happy Ghast Overdrive is also Fabric and server-side for 1.21.6 – 26.3, and it is open source. Happy Ghast but Fast (2x Speed) works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21.2 – 26.2 and is not open source. Those mods change how the Happy Ghast flies, while Ride Anything changes which mobs can be ridden at all.
