Recall Potion
by robinfrt
Recall Potion, a Forge and NeoForge mod by robinfrt, lets players drink a potion to travel back to a saved location in the current dimension.
What it does
Saved points are set on specific blocks: beds, campfires, soul campfires, respawn anchors and lodestones act as saving points, and more blocks can be added through block tags. Each dimension keeps its own saving points, so a point in the Overworld does not carry over to the Nether or the End. Drinking a Recall Potion returns the player to the latest saving point in the matching dimension, and the Overworld falls back to world spawn when none is set.
The mod adds three potions. The Recall Potion covers the Overworld, the Nether Potion travels to the Nether and the End Potion travels to the End, but the Nether and End potions only work after the player has visited that dimension and set a saving point there. Recall Potions can be found in vanilla loot chests or crafted from resources native to each dimension. Unlike vanilla potions they stack to 16, so they take little inventory space. The design draws on the recall potions of Terraria and Dofus.
Recall Potion runs on the client and the server, so both need it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with the latest builds, 1.5.0, targeting 1.20.1 on Forge and 1.21.1 on NeoForge. Builds cover 1.20 – 1.21.4 across seven release versions. JEI is recommended for its recipes.
Key features
Dimension-specific saving points
Each dimension stores its own saved location, so returning from the Nether lands the player at a Nether point.
Three potion types
Recall, Nether and End potions each travel to their own dimension, with the latter two gated by a prior visit.
Block-based saving points
Beds, campfires, soul campfires, respawn anchors and lodestones can each be used to set a saved location.
Stackable potions
Recall Potions stack to 16 in a slot, which keeps them practical for longer exploring trips.
Loot and crafting
Potions appear in vanilla loot chests and can be crafted from materials tied to each dimension.
