Realistic Cities

by ixion

Realistic Cities, a Fabric mod by ixion, adds roads, city decorations and functional traffic lights to Minecraft worlds.

FabricClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.01.18.2 – 1.19.2

What it does

The mod covers city building in the Transportation category, with road pieces, urban decoration blocks and traffic signals that work as parts of a street layout. Placing them together lets a player build a town block rather than a single road. Because the environment is client and server, a server running the mod and every player connecting to it both need the files for the traffic lights and decorations to behave the same way.

Installation needs Fabric API and GeckoLib on every installation, and OwOLib as well. Realistic Cities is published for Fabric only, across two game versions, 1.18.2 and 1.19.2, with 0.4 for 1.19.2 as the latest file released on 2023-10-12. The code is available as a public repository, but the GitHub repository was reported down after a leak of private information, so the source is not a reliable reference right now.

The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license and is not open source. First published on 2023-02-13 and last updated on 2023-10-12, it sits among 379 Transportation mods with Fabric files for 1.19.2.

Key features

  1. Road pieces

Road blocks that connect into streets and intersections, so a city layout can be built from one kind of part.

  2. Functional traffic lights

Signals that change state as part of a street layout, adding working traffic control to built roads.

  3. City decorations

Urban decoration blocks for sidewalks, street furniture and the surroundings of a built road.

  4. Client and server setup

Both the server and every connecting player need the mod for its roads and signals to behave consistently.
