What it does

Railcraft adds a handful of new rail types to the game. Wooden Rails are the basic, low-cost option and run more slowly. Lubricated Rails are a smoother, slightly faster version of standard rails. Ice Rails and Powered Ice Rails are fast and slippery, suited to builds that focus on speed. Express lines are also part of the set.

The rails do not stop at speed. Carts on them must slow down for turns and when climbing slopes, so a track that works at one speed may throw a cart at another. The mod is built with modern development tools, including Data Generation and Mixin, which the author cites for maintainability and performance.
