PvP Utilities

by Rsge

PvP Utilities adds server-side limits for player-versus-player servers, covering lives, playtime, experience level and command logging.

ForgeServer-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.7.10

What it does

Server owners can cap how many lives a player has and set the reason a player is withdrawn from play, for example after a death, so the limit applies only to the player who was killed. A playtime limit and a configurable maximum experience level are available as well. Commands run on the server are logged, and the log lets an owner check which commands admins used.

Environment: the server runs the mod alone, so players join without installing anything. The mod targets Forge for 1.7.10 only, with 0.2.0 as the latest file. It is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code and issue tracker are public. The author notes the autoclicker denial feature is still buggy and that updates may come often, since the work is done in spare time.

Key features

  1. Limited lives

A set number of lives with a configurable withdrawal reason, applied only to the killed player.

  2. Playtime limit

Caps how long a player may stay in a session, limiting time on the server.

  3. Maximum experience level

The highest experience level a player can reach is configurable, so the XP gap between players can be kept narrow.

  4. Command logging

Records commands run on the server so the owner can check what admins used.

What the author says

This is a server side mod, adding lots of useful utilities for Minecraft PvP, be it modded or Vanilla-style. It was originally made for a private PvP project using FTB Trident and it's my first mod. I'm doing this in my spare time and am still learning how to even code Java, so don't expect updates often. This mod is…
