putbuildings

by nikamimolu

Putbuildings lets players save a selected chunk of a Forge 1.20.1 world as an NBT schematic and place that structure again elsewhere in the world.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Putbuildings works as a structure migration tool. A player selects a region of chunks, saves the structures in it as NBT schematic files, and places those files at any other location in the same world. Entities inside the saved region can be included in the schematic as an optional setting, so a build can be moved with its contents.

Schematic files are exported to the config\PutBuildings-BluePrints folder. Any NBT schematic file placed in that folder becomes available for placement in the game. The mod runs on Forge 47.4.0 with Java 17, and only the Minecraft 1.20.1 version is covered.

Both the server and every player need the mod, because it runs on the client and the server. The code is All rights reserved and is not open source. A material list can be previewed for a schematic, but the preview does not yet consume materials during placement; the author plans to add that in future versions.

Key features

  1. Chunk-based saving

A selected chunk region is saved as an NBT schematic, keeping the structures inside it.

  2. Optional entity saving

Entities in the saved region can be included in the schematic, or left out when only the blocks are needed.

  3. Placement anywhere

A saved schematic can be placed at any location in the world, including areas far from the original build.

  4. Blueprint folder

Schematic files are stored in config\PutBuildings-BluePrints, and any NBT file copied there is available for placement.

  5. Material list preview

A material list shows what a schematic needs, but it is preview-only and does not deduct items during placement.
