Primitive creatures

by dodo_merm

Primitive creatures adds early-stage mobs inspired by TerraFirmaCraft, so a world can host creatures suited to a primitive setting.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverBSD 2-Clause License1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod adds several new creatures, and more are added over time. The earth golem supplies clay on a repeating schedule, firing it at the player now and then, and the stone golem becomes a steady coal source. When provoked, the stone golem starts attacking more aggressively, and it grows afraid while it is being attacked from behind.

Other creatures reference resources from TerraFirmaCraft. A primitive Sculk-style creature evolved from mussels, a weaker version of the Warden that is still dangerous, and a storm creature that appears during thunderstorms. Primal Illagers appear rarely, at the time of day and in the biomes of the upper world, and they keep the classic Illager roles in a primitive setting. One Illager is smaller and more agile, another is heavier, armored and delivers a hammer-crushing blow.

The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. It must be installed on both the server and every player's client. It is released under the BSD 2-Clause License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Clay and coal golems

The earth golem supplies clay and the stone golem supplies coal, both repeatedly, making them a steady resource.

  2. Thunderstorm creature

A creature appears only during thunderstorms, adding a weather-linked encounter to the world.

  3. Primal Illagers

Illagers appear rarely in upper-world biomes, and each variant fights in a distinct style, from a blowpipe user to an armored hammer wielder.

  4. Animal lures

An armored beast responds to herbs that lure it, and a catcher can immobilize a target with a single precise blow.
