Get Pricked!
by naomi
Get Pricked! makes blocks that hurt players who touch or stand on them, adding a damage effect to parts of the world that are otherwise harmless.
What it does
Blocks from the mod deal damage when a player walks into or stands on them, which the author describes as a hazard that normal play does not usually have. The effect is tied to the blocks themselves, so damage comes from the environment rather than from a mob or a potion. Rose bushes and coral blocks are among the blocks that take on this behavior, and amethyst bud clusters are also included.
Server owners install the mod on the server, and players can join without it, because only the server has to run it. The license is the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the project is open source, with public source code and an issue tracker. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with builds covering 1.19 – 1.20.4 across 10 release versions. The latest Fabric, Forge and Quilt builds are 2.0.0 for 1.20.4, released on 2024-02-29, and the NeoForge build is 1.0.0 for 1.19.3, released on 2023-01-16.
Key features
Damaging blocks
Selected blocks hurt a player who touches or stands on them, so routes through the world can carry real risk.
Rose bush hazard
Rose bushes deal damage on contact, giving flower patches a dangerous side.
Coral block hazard
Coral blocks also deal damage, so reefs and ocean floors can act as obstacles.
Amethyst bud clusters
Amethyst bud clusters are included among the blocks that hurt players, adding a crystal hazard to caves.
