Portal Gels
Portal Gels adds Portal 2-style gels for Forge and NeoForge, paint-like blocks that change how the player moves when stepped on.
What it does
The gels come in several types: Propulsion, Repulsion, Adhesion, Conversion and Cleansing, plus a Reflection Gel that bounces projectiles and a Portalize Gel that teleports the player a short distance. Some of the gels appeared in Portal 2 during development and were later removed, and the mod restores them. Three new types, Repulsion Gel variants, are obtainable only in Creative mode.
The gels suit adventure maps, puzzle worlds and survival builds that want movement tricks. Conversion Gel is needed to make the other gels, and Cleansing Gel washes them off surfaces. Each gel is placed as a block, so a world can mix several types in one room. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.18.2 – 1.21.1, and the code is licensed as All rights reserved.
Key features
Movement gels
Propulsion, Repulsion and Adhesion gels change speed and jump height, from launching the player forward to holding them in place.
Portalize and Reflection gels
The Portalize Gel teleports the player up to 10 blocks away at random, and the Reflection Gel sends projectiles back.
Igniting and Black Hole gels
The Igniting Gel sets the player on fire, and the Black Hole gel teleports the player under the blocks above it.
Creative-only gels
Some gels from the test builds are available only in Creative mode, including Repulsion Gel variants that repulse the player without a jump.
